SwasthGarbh: A Mobile App for the assistance of pregnant women.
Abstract
SwasthGarbh is a Mobile App for providing antenatal care and real-time medical support to all pregnant women (especially those in rural areas and/or do not have easy access to doctors). It helps in improving the quality of antenatal care, reducing obstetric/medical complications and achieving a positive pregnancy experience.
It assists pregnant women to keep a record of every clinical test/parameter as well as get reminders for the next/missed ANC visit or medication. It provides a two-way communication between doctors and patients. It collects patient's data (at any desired interval) on BP, heart rate, weight, urine albumin and bleeding per vaginum, and transmits it to the doctor (if linked). In addition, patients have the freedom to send report(s) to the doctor (if needed). Most importantly, both the woman and doctor get automatic notification if any parameter(s) crosses normal range so that timely medical assistance can be provided. Thus, it not only eliminates the need for manual monitoring of each patient by the doctor but also helps them in proactively recommending precautionary action during the treatment period. Women have freedom to inform the doctor about any problem/symptom she is facing on an SOS basis. On getting this information along with clinical reports (if any), the doctor can advice as well as prescribe medicines in real-time (through notification/call). Moreover, the embedded feature, ANC Assist, will help doctors to automatically calculate the schedule of all ANC visits of any patient.
Both patients and doctors can avail the benefits of the App free of cost. This is the first pregnancy App that provides instantaneous access to doctor’s advice and is clinically endorsed as well as credible. The App has been developed in collaboration with AIIMS New Delhi. It is available on Google Play.
Procedure for using SwasthGarbh Mobile App
The patients have the freedom to register with/without linking to a doctor. If they have entered the details of the doctor while registering, the patient and the doctor immediately get connected.
In case, the patient is getting an error 'wrong mobile number' on entering doctor's number that means her doctor has not registered yet. The patient should therefore request her doctor to register on the SwasthGarbh App.
