Dr. Deepak Sharma conferred Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award 2013-14
Dr. Deepak Sharma is a resident of Gurugram (Haryana). He did his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, IIT Roorkee.
Dr. Deepak Sharma has developed several computational algorithms to address biologically pertinent issues. He also works in collaboration with doctors for the diagnosis and treatment of several diseases. His excellent research work had won him the prestigious ‘INSA Medal for Young Scientist 2008’. He was invited as a Visiting Faculty at the University of Maryland, USA and was also selected as a founding member of the Indian National Young Academy of Science (INYAS). His specialization in two diverse fields of bioinformatics and experimental/molecular biology has placed him at a unique position internationally. For his outstanding scientific contribution, he has been selected for the ‘Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award 2013-14’.
